Podovac heroics
The visitors lost their opener 4-0 at home to Norway while Greece were beginning their campaign. With the game goalless, the home team, who had gone close through Anthoula Arvanitaki on 35 minutes, seemed boosted when Tamara Jovanovic received a second yellow card eleven minutes from time. But six minutes later Danka Podovac put Serbia and Montenegro ahead and she scored again in added time.
Italian test
Serbia and Montenegro now face a tough test on Wednesday in Italy, a nation also with three points from two games, and then welcome Ukraine next Saturday. Greece also receive the former Soviet Republic on 9 November.
