Spain will face Sweden in Monday's WU19 EURO final in Netanya after both sides sealed progress in dramatic fashion on Friday evening.
Sweden edged out Germany in a thriller in Netanya, Stina Blackstenius' second of the night and 18th of the season making it 3-3 late on, to force extra time and then penalties. Calle Barrling's side were faultless, converting all four of their efforts with aplomb while Emma Holmgren made two fine stops.
It was a similar story in the second semi-final in Lod, albeit a tighter affair. The goals came within six first-half minutes of each other, Andrea Sánchez cancelling out Marie-Charlotte Léger's third of the finals. Léger was ultimately the unlucky player in the shoot-out, missing the tenth spot kick after nine convertions as Spain advanced.
It means a repeat of the 2012 final, when Barrling's Sweden beat a Spain team coached by Jorge Vilda's father Ángel to an extra-time win in Antalya, Turkey.
All four semi-finalists booked places at the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup by reaching the last four.
