Randa-Boldt demands more, Paisana proud

Despite securing a last-four berth, Søren Randa-Boldt was dissatisfied with Denmark's display against Turkey, while Mirel Albon wants Romania to end on a high after defeat by Portugal.

Not content with a place in the semi-finals, Søren Randa-Boldt is striving for perfection after Denmark strayed from their passing principles against Turkey, who must win their final match to have any hope of progressing. Portugal assumed second place in Group A and José Paisana was beaming with pride after his side's "deserved" victory against Romania, who are desperate to leave Antalya with their reputation intact.

TURKEY 0-1 DENMARK
Taygun Erdem, Turkey coach

The fact our players are inexperienced in final tournaments and were nervous led to individual mistakes. It was really important for women's football in Turkey for us to show resistance to a team like Denmark, who have a great history.

We started to take risks in the last half an hour and played with four forwards. If our players had converted chances, things would have been different. We beat our next opponents, Romania, 3-0 in the Kuban Spring Tournament last March in Russia and they are a team we know very well. This doesn't mean a win is guaranteed as they have a new squad now.

We weren't at our best. In the end our players unnecessarily used long balls but that was not the way we wanted to play. We wanted to combine short passes with good movement on the flanks. It was a little bit hectic. Turkey showed good resistance, so I congratulate them. Now we have six points, we have guaranteed a place in the semi-finals. As my young team have never played in a European Championship before, I was a little bit surprised. They have done a very good job so far.

PORTUGAL 1-0 ROMANIA
José Paisana, Portugal coach
We knew it would be a very hard game. Romania are well organised and they played until the final whistle but it was a deserved win. Really, we should have won by more goals. We had more opportunities and controlled the match. I think we proved we are a good team with great players. We are very proud of them. Our country is proud.

We never sat back; we always want to play beautiful football, it's our philosophy. Now we have to recover and enjoy the moment and relax for a bit. After, we will look ahead to our next match. But it doesn't matter about the opposition; we respect all of them and prepare in the same way.

Mirel Albon, Romania coach
Firstly, we are happy to be here and playing at this level. If we compare the first and second half the girls were much more adventurous after the break. During the first half they were hesitant but we played some nice football after that. Unfortunately we are out but it has been a great experience, which has highlighted the talent coming through.

It doesn't matter if we make mistakes; the most important thing is we play good football. In our last match we need to prove that we deserve to be here. It is very important. We want to leave Antalya with a good reputation; we didn't come here to go home point-less.
