Article body
Germany striker Anja Mittag leads the UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship goalscoring chart after taking her tally to four in two games with a hat-trick against Switzerland.
Hat-trick
Having scored the first of Germany's four goals in their opening Group A game against Finland, Mittag - who played in the final of this event two years ago - struck a second-half hat-trick which included a back-heel and curling free-kick as Silvia Neid's powerful side advanced to the semi-finals.
Coppolino usurped
Mittag replaces Italy forward Serena Coppolino, who scored a hat-trick in the Azzurre's opening 5-1 defeat of Russia, at the summit. Coppolino failed to register as Italy drew 0-0 with Norway today, while strike partner Agnese Ricco was sent off. Ricco scored twice against Russia but will miss the final Group B game through suspension.
Spanish trio
Ricco was joined on two goals by three Spain players as they also booked a berth in the last four by defeating Finland 4-0. Captain Iraia scored twice today, while Jade and Irune both found the net for the second game in succession after scoring in the 3-1 victory against Switzerland. UEFA will award a trophy to the leading scorer at the end of the tournament.
