Sarah Günther is to link up with her fellow German international Birgit Prinz at 1. FFC Frankfurt next season after agreeing a move from Hamburger SV.

One-year deal
The 22-year-old defender, who won her 21st cap this afternoon in a 3-1 friendly victory against Canada, has signed a 12-month deal with the 2002 UEFA Women's Cup winners, who look set for a fifth Bundesliga title and a return to European competition having gained victory in all their 18 league games this season. Günther's international honours include victory at the 2002 UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship and a bronze medal at the 2004 Olympic Games.

'Bright future'
Hamburg coach Andrew Pfennig said: "Sarah has done a lot for our team and we are sad to lose her. But I would still like to wish her all the best for her future, which we are sure will be bright."

Canada friendlies
Prinz signed a new one-year deal at Frankfurt earlier this week, with the club also boasting Kerstin Garefrekes, Renate Lingor and Steffi Jones among the Germany squad to face Canada today and on Sunday. Their UEFA Women's Championship defence in England begins with a Group B encounter against Norway in Warrington on 6 June.
