Alexia Putellas (Barcelona)

The reigning world and UEFA player of the year, and this season's competition Top Scorer, Alexia has already shown that an occasion like this holds no fear, and this final is another chance for her to confirm her stellar status as a midfielder and attacker who has mastered a wide range of roles.

Ada Hegerberg (Lyon)

Out between January 2020 and October 2021 with a serious injury, Hegerberg has returned in the goalscoring form she displayed through the 2010s, including five in Lyon's run to Turin, taking her record competition tally to 58. Got a hat-trick against Barcelona in the 2019 final, having also struck in the deciders of 2016 and 2018.

Irene Paredes (Barcelona)

Named UEFA Women's Champions League Defender of the Season for 2020/21 for her performances in Paris Saint-Germain's semi-final run, she promptly switched to the club which won all the other awards, Barcelona. Has formed a superb partnership with Spain colleague Mapi León.

Wendie Renard (Lyon)

Having already appeared in nine finals with Lyon, winning seven including five as captain, no one has more experience of these occasions that the towering defender who uniquely has played in more than 100 women's club competition games. Also a useful source of goals, including in both legs of this season' semi-final against Paris. Has signed a new contract until 2026, which would be her 20th year at Lyon.
