How the Women's Champions League quarter-final draw worked

The principles of the quarter-final draw were:

  • Group winners must be drawn against runners-up from a different group, with no country protection.
  • The runners-up play the first leg at home.

Women's Champions League quarter-finalists

Group winners (seeded): Olympique Lyonnais (FRA, qualified from Group A), Chelsea FC (ENG, B), Arsenal FC (ENG, C), FC Barcelona (ESP, D)

Group runners-up (unseeded): VfL Wolfsburg (GER, A), Real Madrid CF (ESP, B), FC Bayern München (GER, C), Manchester City (ENG, D)

The four balls containing the names of the group runners-up were placed in one bowl and the four balls containing the names of the group winners were placed in another bowl.

A ball was drawn from the bowl with the group runners-up. The team drawn was placed as the home team in the quarter-final 1 tie.

A ball was then drawn from the bowl with the group winners. The team drawn was placed as the visiting team to complete the quarter-final 1 tie.

The same procedure was repeated to designate the remaining three quarter-final ties.

If a group winner was drawn against the runners-up from the same group, the group winners were moved to be the visiting team in the next tie and another group winner was drawn to complete the current tie. Another group runner-up was then drawn to complete the next tie as the home team. Should a clash be possible when drawing the last two ties, the teams were drawn and assigned to the ties.

How the Women's Champions League semi-final draw worked

At this stage of the competition, no teams are seeded and there is no country protection.

The balls containing slips of paper 'Winners of quarter-final 1' to 'Winners of quarter-final 4' were placed in the central bowl and shuffled.

The first and the second ball drawn designated the first pairing of the semi-finals. In addition, the first ball drawn designated the home team for the first leg.

The same procedure was repeated to designate the second semi-final pairing.

Was there a draw for the Women's Champions League final?

A draw was also made for administrative reasons to designate the notional home team for the final at Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon on 24 May.

The two balls containing slips of paper 'Winners of semi-final 1' and 'Winners of semi-final 2' were placed in the central bowl and shuffled.

The first team drawn determined the home team for the final. This will be the winners of semi-final 2.

Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon will stage the 2025 UEFA Women's Champions League final on Saturday 24 May.

The home of Sporting CP opened in 2003 ahead of UEFA EURO 2004 in Portugal, replacing another stadium of the same name. It hosted a semi-final of that tournament, among other games, and was the venue for the UEFA Cup decider the following year.

The 2025 final will be the second Women's Champions League showpiece to be held in Lisbon after 2014, when Estádio do Restelo staged Wolfsburg's 4-3 win against Tyresö.
