The top two in UEFA Women's Champions League Group D meet again with unbeaten records once more on the line as 2020/21 runners-up Chelsea look to overtake section leaders Häcken with victory in Gothenburg.

The Swedish city was the venue for the Blues' final defeat by Barcelona in May 2021, when Emma Hayes' side went down 4-0, all the goals coming in the first 36 minutes.

The Londoners were the first club to take points off Häcken in this season's group stage with a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge on 14 December, the home side managing 22 shots with Erin Cuthbert and Sam Kerr both hitting the woodwork.

Häcken's clean sheet means the Damallsvenskan side have the best defensive record in Group D with just two goals conceded so far. Only eight-time winners Lyon and current holders Barcelona, with one, have conceded less in this season's group stage overall.

These teams are among five clubs yet to lose in the 2023/24 group stage, along with reigning champions Barcelona, who are top of Group A, Group B leaders Lyon and Bayern München, who are out in front in Group C.

Players to watch

Jennifer Falk

The goalkeeper made her Women's Champions League debut against English opponents three years ago this month, playing 90 minutes in both legs of a 5-1 aggregate round of 32 defeat by Manchester City for Häcken's predecessors Göteborg.

Falk was ever-present in all eight of Häcken's European matches in 2021/22, keeping a clean sheet in their 1-0 Matchday 3 win away to Benfica.

The 30-year-old was the only Häcken player to start all 26 matches in their 2023 league season, recording a division-high 19 shut-outs.

She moved to the Gothenburg-based side ahead of the 2016 campaign, playing every minute of their 2020 league season as they claimed their first Damallsvenskan title.

The Swedish international made one appearance for the Blågult as they finished third at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, replacing Chelsea's Zećira Mušović in goal for the 2-0 Matchday 3 success against Argentina.

Johanna Rytting Kaneryd

The 26-year-old is in her second season with Chelsea having joined from Häcken in August 2022.

The midfielder won the 2020/21 Swedish Cup with Häcken, playing all 90 minutes in the 3-0 final win against Eskilstuna United.

Rytting Kaneryd spent almost two years with the Getingarna, scoring 15 goals in her 55 appearances across all competitions after joining from Rosengård in December 2020.

The Kolsva-born winger started all eight of Häcken's Women's Champions League matches in 2021/22, hitting the winner in a 3-2 second-leg defeat of Vålerenga in the Round 2 qualifier at the Hisingen Arena in September 2021.

The Swedish international, who missed just one league match as Rosengård won the 2019 Damallsvenskan title, began her career at Tyresö, with whom she reached the 2013/14 Women's Champions League final.
