Chelsea and Australia forward Sam Kerr was the top female goalscorer playing in Europe's top ten leagues for club and country after yet another spectacular year.
Having finished third behind Fenna Kalma in 2022, Kerr hit 37 goals in 2023, helping Chelsea clinch another domestic double and also registering in the FIFA Women's World Cup semi-finals for Australia. Kerr finished ahead of Racheal Kundananji and, in joint third, Rachel Daly and 2022 runner-up Tessa Wullaert.
Kerr's total of five goals in the UEFA Women's Champions League through 2023 was three behind the competition leader, Ajax's Romée Leuchter, whose eight strikes all came this season during qualifying and the group stage.
However, the overall leader in all UEFA women's competition was Lyon prospect Liana Joseph, who hit nine goals to help France secure the 2023 Women's Under-17 EURO title, including five in the final tournament, plus four more in Women's U19 EURO round 1.
The most goals in a single competition were the ten notched by Danique Tolhoek for the Netherlands in WU19 EURO matches and Montenegro's Maša Tomašević in Women's U17 EURO qualifiers. Meanwhile, Carla Vanessa's five goals for Portugal at the UEFA Women's Futsal EURO finals made her the top calendar year scorer in that competition for the second year in a row.
