Olympique Lyonnais striker Lotta Schelin has committed her immediate future to the club by signing a one-year contract extension with the Division 1 Féminine outfit.

The Swedish international, who signed for Lyon in 2008 and has lengthened her deal once before, has agreed to remain at OL until at least June 2013, with the option for a further 12 months at the club she has helped reach the UEFA Women's Champions League final for the second successive season.

Schelin has made a huge impact in her four-year spell, scoring 59 goals in 61 league appearances and finding the target 26 times in 31 UEFA Women's Champions League matches. The 28-year-old has inspired her side to three consecutive league titles, last term's UEFA Women's Champions League and finished third in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup as Sweden defeated France in the third-place play-off.

Lyon face 1. FFC Frankfurt in the UEFA Women's Champions League final at Munich's Olympiastadion on 17 May.
