Bell thrilled by Frankfurt attitude

I can't believe it! This is just a dream, the fact I am the first Englishman [to coach a team to victory in a UEFA Champions League for men or women], this is unbelievable. I thank God, I am so thankful.

We were tactically very strong, we kept the game very tight, we did well in midfield – we had a player over in midfield and we used that. We were very lively up front, Célia [Šašić] and Ana [Maria Crnogorčević] – just a great team effort. We made sure Paris couldn't dominate the game and we cut off their supply to [Marie-Laure] Delie. The other dangerous players, [Shirley] Cruz and [Fatmire] Alushi, we closed down very early and very well. We did everything tactically very well, the attitude was just fantastic – we ran our hearts out today.

The first half didn't go so well. The girls did not immediately get into the game and we lost time. In the second half we improved, the team were strong and I was hoping we would be able to achieve even more but they scored in the 90th minute and it was very tough.

In the first half, our collective experience in the Champions League was not enough. I don't feel we played as we could but it was better in the second half and I was sure that we would be able to win if they didn't score – but that wasn't how it turned out.
