New Brøndby IF coach Per Nielsen has made his first signing in the shape of Denmark Under-19 defender Rikke Sevecke.

The 18-year-old joins from BSF, with whom she has already gained top-flight experience. A veteran of the 2013 UEFA European Women's U19 Championship in Wales, last September she helped Denmark through to the 2015 elite round, where they face Slovenia, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands in April.

A club statement read: "We are very happy that Rikke has chosen the Yellow and Blue jersey. With her many qualities, we are sure that Rikke will have a lot to contribute to our team. We are also confident that we can help Rikke with her further development."

Brøndby, who appointed Nielsen to succeed Peer Lisdorf at the end of December, face Linköpings FC in the UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-finals in March. At the winter break they are five points clear of Fortuna Hjørring in the Danish Women's Premier League.
