Paris, Lyon level as Bristol and Swedish duo win

Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais will go into the second leg of their UEFA Women's Champions League round of 16 tie level while Bristol Academy WFC and Swedish duo FC Rösengarg and Linköping FC all won.

UEFA.com's reporting team rounds up Saturday's action; the other four first legs are on Sunday with the returns on Wednesday and Thursday.

Paris Saint-Germain 1-1 Olympique Lyonnais
France's leading sides will reconvene at Stade de Gerland on Wednesday with their tie all-square after Fatmire Alushi drew a resilient Paris side level in the capital, finding into the top corner from the edge of the area early in the second half.

Lyon enjoyed the better chances but were restricted to a single goal, Corine Petit getting the final touch on the ball after Wendie Renard had headed a corner goalwards on 21 minutes.

FC Barcelona 0-1 Bristol Academy WFC
Bristol are in sight of a first quarter-final but had to withstand waves of attacks from the home side at Mini Estadi. Barcelona had most of the possession but on 26 minutes Marta Corredera turned a Natasha Harding cross into her own net. Not long after Sonia Bermúdez shot on to the woodwork as Barcelona pushed hard to equalise.

Little changed after the interval with substitute Ana María Romero shooting just off target, Jennifer Hermoso missing from distance after a fast counter and Ruth García coming close with a header from a corner. However Bristol held on and have the advantage for Thursday's return at Ashton Gate.

FC Rösengard 2-1 Fortuna Hjørring
German duo Anja Mittag and Katrin Schmidt were on target to give the Swedish champions a narrow lead to take to Aalborg on Thursday. Mittag made it 1-0 on 12 minutes with her 45th European goal, three short of Inka Grings's record, as she robbed a defender and beat Michelle Betos, who then was instrumental in keeping Fortuna in the match, particularly denying Marta.

Fortuna levelled in the 56th minute when captain Sofia Junge Pedersen turned in a centre. In the next ten minutes Betos was tested several times before Schmidt restored the home lead after being sent clear by Sara Bjork Gunnarsdóttir but Fortuna may yet end a run of three straight round of 16 exits to Swedish clubs.

Linköpings FC 5-0 WFC Zvezda 2005
The home side struck four times in a first half that ended with drama when Linköping goalkeeper Kathlynn Fraine was sent off after bringing down José Nahi in the box. Hilde Gunn Olsen came off the bench to save Daryna Apanaschenko's penalty with her very first touch in European competition.

Even with ten players in the second half the Swedish team dominated and Mariann Knudsen made it five to give the Russian champions a daunting task in Thursday's return in Perm.
