Ouriense, Raheny and Medyk celebrate progress

The UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying round concludes on Thursday but Irish side Raheny United FC, Polish debutants KKPK Medyk Konin and Portugal's Clube Atlético Ouriense will go into their last matches knowing round of 32 places are already theirs.

Indeed, Ouriense are the first Portuguese team ever to progress through a round of this competition, less than three months after the final itself was played in Lisbon. UEFA.com rounds up the reaction from all three clubs and picks out prospects to watch.

What we did here was something big – we made history. We managed to adapt well to our opponents [in beating ASA Tel-Aviv University SC 2-1] and imposed our strategy. We scored our first goal and we could have scored more, but they equalised from a free-kick. Then we had a bit of luck in the way we grabbed the second goal, but we earned it. We are very proud for this city of Ourem and this group of players. We made history by winning the league and cup – and now by qualifying for the next round of this competition.

• Ouriense player to watch: Felipa Rodrigues, defender, 20
The history-making Portuguese champions have conceded only one goal in their mini-tournament – and organising their defence is Rodrigues. She previously made herself known in helping Portugal qualify for the 2012 UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship, keeping two clean sheets in Turkey as they got to the last four in their nation's first major tournament. Now a senior international, she helped Ouriense retain the league title last term after joining from Fundação Laura Santos.

This was a super win for us [2-0 against FC NSA Sofia]. Clare Shine [who scored both goals] definitely shone today, but she had a fantastic supporting cast in the rest of the girls. We are absolutely delighted with the result, but will keep our feet firmly on the ground until the job is done on Thursday.

• Raheny player to watch: Clare Shine, forward, 19
The forward came to prominence at last month's Women's U19 finals when, just weeks after breaking her leg, Shine returned to score a late winner in the opener against Spain, eventually aiding the Republic of Ireland to the semis. Carrying on that form, Shine claimed an 81st-minute goal to overcome hosts CFF Olimpia Clujn in Raheny's qualifying round curtain-raiser before her decisive heroics against NSA.

[On receiving support from Polish soldiers based locally in Sarajevo] We can't complain about the support! And on Wednesday we were invited to the Polish embassy – a big surprise and a great pleasure. I am not thinking yet [about the next round]. I would most like to go to Barcelona but we will see.

• Medyk Konin player to watch: Ewa Pajor, forward, 17
The 17-year-old's four strikes in Monday's 7-0 defeat of Åland United, added to grabbing the first goal of this season's competition on Saturday against hosts WFC SFK 2000 Sarajevo, took her tally in UEFA competitions to 23. She announced herself last season with her prolific record for Poland in winning the UEFA European Women's U17 Championship – having not long before come off the bench in the Polish Cup final to score twice as Medyk Konin beat champions RTP Unia Racibórz.
