Paris Saint-Germain have continued to build for next season's UEFA Women's Champions League with the signing of Germany playmaker Fatmire Alushi.

Formerly known by her maiden name of Bajramaj before her marriage last winter to 1. FC Kaiserslautern player Enis Alushi, the 26-year-old joins from 1. FFC Frankfurt to link up with compatriots Annike Krahn and Linda Bresonik, with whom Alushi won the 2009 UEFA Women's Cup with FCR 2001 Duisburg. The following season Alushi lifted the rebranded UEFA Women's Champions League trophy with 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam with whom she twice topped the Frauen Bundesliga before going on to Frankfurt in 2011, this season winning the German Cup and only missing out on the title with Sunday's 2-1 loss at VfL Wolfsburg.

Capped 72 times, Alushi's arrival comes a week after that of Sweden captain Caroline Seger in Paris. Alushi said: "I'm very happy to be part of this team. They are a very professional club and I was looking for a new challenge."

Coach Farid Benstiti, whose team like Frankfurt will enter the 2014/15 UEFA Women's Champions League round of 32 as national runners-up, added: "She is a player comfortable on the flank or in the middle. She is free, very attack-minded, with character and it's very interesting for us."
