With two weeks to go until the UEFA Women's Champions League final, VfL Wolfsburg have begun preparations for next season by signing Norway forward Caroline Graham Hansen.

The 19-year-old will arrive in July and has agreed a contract running until summer 2016. She joins from Stabæk FK, where she arrived in the winter after ending a spell with Tyresö FF – whom she played for in the early rounds of this term's UEFA Women's Champions League, during a run that has taken the Swedish club to the final against Wolfsburg in Lisbon on 22 May.

"We have been monitoring Caroline for a long time and tried very hard to sign her," said Wolfsburg coach Ralf Kellermann, whose team must win in Lisbon or finish first or second in Germany to return to Europe next season. "She has received a superb technical education and can play anywhere in attack. She also has a lot of international experience."

Hansen made her league debut aged 15, winning the championship with Stabæk in 2010, and has been capped 28 times at senior level, scoring nine goals. She was in the Norway side that lost 1-0 to Germany in the UEFA Women's EURO 2013 final last July, against future Wolfsburg club-mates Nadine Kessler and Lena Goessling.

"Signing for Wolfsburg will definitely be beneficial for my development," Graham Hansen said. "Wolfsburg already have an outstanding team and last year they won everything. It will be a tough challenge for me, but I am really looking forward to it."
