Draw procedure
The eight teams remaining in the competition went into an open draw with no seeding or country protection. For the quarter-finals the eight balls were placed in a central bowl and stirred. The first team drawn played the second team drawn at home in the first leg, and the procedure was repeated for the remaining ties.
For the semi-final draw, four slips of paper reading 'Winners of quarter-final 1' to 'Winners of quarter-final 4' were placed in a central bowl and drawn as for the previous round. A draw was then held to determine which semi-final winners will be the 'home' side for the final.
