A quarter-final lineup featuring eight different nations is possible when the UEFA Women's Champions League round of 16 concludes on Wednesday and Thursday.
Away sides performed well in the first legs at the weekend, with holders VfL Wolfsburg, twice winners Olympique Lyonnais, and potential first-time quarter-finalists SV Neulengbach, Tyresö FF and Birmingham City LFC all securing leads for their home return matches. Former champions Arsenal LFC and, in this round for the first time, FC Barcelona, go to Glasgow City LFC and FC Zürich Frauen respectively 3-0 up, while FC Rossiyanka will defend a 1-0 advantage in Sardinia at ASD Torres Calcio.
The eventual eight winners go into the draw for the remainder of the competition in Nyon on 21 November. The two-legged quarter-finals in March and the semis in April will be played on the last two weekends of each month and the final is in Lisbon on Thursday 22 May.
