VfL Wolfsburg could be without Alexandra Popp for the UEFA Women's Champions League final against Olympique Lyonnais on Thursday 23 May.

The 22-year-old German international forward, who has scored twice in seven games in this season's European competition, succumbed to an ankle injury during Sunday's 4-0 Frauen Bundesliga title-clinching defeat of SC 07 Bad Neuenahr

"We were expecting the injury to be worse than this but it is nevertheless a bitter blow for us," said coach Ralf Kellermann. "It is really sad that she will not make the [German Cup] final on Sunday but there is hope she will be fit in time to play Lyon."

The new German champions will travel to Stamford Bridge without injured trio Rebecca Smith, Zsanett Jakabfi and Selina Wagner, while midfielder Viola Odebrecht is ruled out through suspension.
