For three-time European female club title winners 1. FFC Frankfurt, this season was the first time they entered the revamped UEFA Women's Champions League, having finished outside the German top two prior to the inaugural pair of editions.

However, the Frauen-Bundesliga outfit wasted no time in making it all the way to their joint-record fifth European final, and on Thursday meet holders Olympique Lyonnais at Munich's Olympiastadion. UEFA.com spoke to coach Sven Kahlert as well as captain Sandra Smisek and goalkeeper Desirée Schumann – both standing in for injured No1 and skipper Nadine Angerer – about their prospects and the importance of being back at the continent's summit.
