UEFA Women's Champions League holders Olympique Lyonnais repeated their 4-0 first-leg defeat of Brøndby IF to reach their fifth European semi-final in as many entries.
Camille Abily and Élodie Thomis scored for Lyon before the break and Eugénie Le Sommer added two in the second half. Lyon could now have a semi-final against the side they have played in the last two deciders, 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam, who tomorrow take a 2-0 lead to FC Rossiyanka, a team OL also knocked out in 2010/11.
Lyon broke the deadlock on ten minutes when Abily's free-kick curled inside the near post despite a touch from Brøndby goalkeeper Stina Petersen. Rosana shot across the face of goal, and then sent an effort over.
Abily nearly had a second when she headed a looped Lara Dickenmann cross against the bar. It was 2-0 on the night when Thomis raced past Malene Olsen and send in an angled finish.
To show Lyon's resources they were able to bring Lotta Schelin and Louisa Necib off the bench at half-time, Le Sommer forced a save from Petersen early in the half but then made it three from Sonia Bompastor's cross. Le Sommer had another after a Schelin shot deflected off Olsen into her path in front of an empty net, and the France striker is now competition top scorer on eight goals.
Brøndby did have the consolation of setting a Danish crowd record for a match in this competition of 3,644.
