Germany defender Babett Peter will leave 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam for 1. FFC Frankfurt in the summer, after agreeing to become the club's third major signing in recent weeks, following moves for Simone Laudehr and Bianca Schmidt.

Already a world and European champion with Germany, the 23-year-old has signed a three-year contract at Frankfurt, and said: "I have achieved a lot with Turbine Potsdam in the last six years and will cherish the memories. I will continue to give them my best and hopefully leave with the German title and [UEFA Women's] Champions League under my belt. Frankfurt are offering me ideal conditions for my sporting and personal development and I'm looking forward to a lot of new experiences."

Frankfurt general manager Siegfried Dietrich added: "We are very happy that Babett Peter chose 1. FFC Frankfurt despite having several different options. She constantly delivers great performances and has a strong personality, making her a top defender at international level. She's from the new generation of women footballers and we're very excited to see the determination that Babett Peter brings to her role. She will add a lot of value to our team."

Potsdam meet FC Rossiyanka of Russia in the UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-finals on 14 and 22 March, while Frankfurt take on FC Malmö on 15 and 21 March.
