PSG hopeful of mounting Frankfurt comeback

Paris Saint-Germain FC are not resigned to exiting the UEFA Women's Champions League at the round of 16 stage, despite facing the stern task of overturning a 3-0 first-leg defeat by 1. FFC Frankfurt.

That is the view of midfielder Élise Bussaglia, who says the French club are remaining positive ahead of Wednesday's return in Paris even if morale has not been helped by a first league loss of the season on Sunday, 1-0 to leaders FCF Juvisy Essonne.

"We won't give up," the 26-year-old told UEFA.com. "We still have 90 minutes to turn things [around] in the second leg and we have the ability to at least win the game."

Whatever the outcome, PSG coach Camillo Vaz is hoping his side avoid a repeat of the mistakes made in Germany last week, when the three-time winners "showed us that we lack some experience at international level".

Frankfurt are certainly not taking a place in the quarter-finals for granted, though; they, like PSG, lost their unbeaten league record at the weekend, succumbing 1-0 to SC Freiburg.

"The first leg was an important step in the right direction, but it will be another exciting encounter in Paris because they will play aggressively from the very first minute," said midfielder Melanie Behringer.

Team-mate Fatmire Bajramaj added: "If we continue playing like last week we won't give anything away and it will not be an easy task for PSG to turn things around. We have nothing to lose and we are a step ahead. A goalless draw would be enough, but we are going to Paris to win."
