Apollon Limassol LFC recorded one of the biggest upsets in European women's football history by defeating former winners Umeå IK 4-1 on Matchday 2 of the UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying round.

Ten clubs, including the Cypriot side plus Brøndby IF and FCF Juvisy Essonne – both 12-0 winners on Saturday – boast maximum points going into the final round of mini-tournament matches on Tuesday. The group winners and two runners-up with the best records against the teams first and third in their pools will progress to the round of 32.

Group 1
Competition stalwarts Brøndby took their tally to 18 goals in two matches by defeating Gazi Üniversitesi SK 12-0, substitutes Sanne Troelsgaard Nielsen and Henriette Dahl both scoring twice for the second successive match. FC NSA Sofia stand level with the Danish club on six points following a 4-0 defeat of FC Roma Calfa. The pair meet on Tuesday.

Group 2
Everton made it two wins from two by hitting ZFK Borec for ten without reply. Substitute Nikita Parris struck twice for the English side in a match which featured nine different goalscorers. Mo Marley's team are two points ahead of Tuesday's opponents Gintra Universitetas, who drew 0-0 with a KÍ Klaksvík side thankful to goalkeeper Randi Wardum for keeping them on level terms.

Group 3
The shock of the day came in Cyprus, where two goals from Alexandra Iusan helped hosts Apollon to victory against Umeå, beaten semi-finalists last season. Christoforou Christakis, the Apollon coach, said the victory was "historic for Cypriot football". Apollon possess maximum points, with Umeå and ASA Tel-Aviv – 3-1 victors against WFC SFK 2000 Sarajevo – three behind. Anything less than a four-goal defeat by ASA on Tuesday would give Apollon first place and Umeå's only hope of going through is a slim one as best runners-up.

Group 4
Juvisy Essonne emulated Brøndby's scoring feat, with Julie Machart helping herself to four in 22 minutes either side of the break as Sandrine Mathivet's charges overwhelmed FC Levadia Tallinn 12-0. Breidablik, who face the French club next, also have a perfect record thanks to a 7-0 defeat of FCM Târgu Mureş.

Group 5
Former semi-finalists ASD Bardolino Verona are another team with a 100% record after beating Gerorgian outfit FC Baia Zugdidi 3-0. Melania Gabbiadini, who struck a hat-trick against Swansea City Ladies AFC on Matchday 1, doubled the Italian side's lead on 49 minutes. ŽNK Krka also have a perfect record after beating Swansea 4-0 on Saturday and Baia Zugdidi by the same scoreline in their rescheduled Matchday 1 game on Sunday.

Group 6
Emueje Oghiabeva scored four inside 38 first-half minutes as FC Rossiyanka put nine past St Francis FC. The Russian side, for whom Olga Petrova set up four, lead the way on six points, three clear of their opponents and 1° Dezembro, 4-1 winners against WFC Osijek.

Group 7
Glasgow City FC and FCR 2001 Duisburg will meet on Matchday 3 in Northern Ireland for the right to decide who progresses as group winners after the pair both won for the second match in succession. Glasgow lead the section on goal difference thanks to a 4-0 triumph over ŠK Slovan Bratislava, while Duisburg − winners in 2008 and semi-finalists last season − eased past hosts Newtownabbey Strikers WFC 6-1.
