Olympique Lyonnais secured an ominous 7-0 D1 Féminine win at ASJ Soyaux-Charente in their last match before the UEFA Women's Champions League final against 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam next Thursday in Getafe.
Lyon only won 2-0 at Soyaux in the French Cup quarter-finals on 21 March but today Lara Dickenmann struck early on followed swiftly by an own goal. Lyon did not score again until the last 19 minutes, Simone and Katia on target before two from substitute Sandrine Brétigny and a late Wendie Renard effort as they kept a fourth straight clean sheet.
The victory moves Lyon to within a point of leaders FCF Juvisy and ahead of Paris Saint-Germain FC on goal difference, and the reigning champions still have a game in hand. Potsdam have already completed a successful defence of the Frauen-Bundesliga title and are not involved in Saturday's German Cup final, which is between FCR 2001 Duisburg and FF USV Jena in Cologne.
