The dates for the UEFA Women's Cup final between Zvezda-2005 and FCR 2001 Duisburg have been announced with the second leg in Germany to be played on a Friday night.

Kazan opener
Russian champions Zvezda and German side Duisburg have both reached the two-legged final in their debut UEFA Women's Cup, having each proved their credentials by defeating holders 1. FFC Frankfurt at different stages of the competition. The first leg will be played on Saturday 16 May at 19.45 local time (17.45CET) at the Tsentralnyi Stadium, Kazan, as Zvezda's usual home in Perm has artificial turf without the requisite licence for this season. Zvezda have already beaten Brøndby IF and Umeå IK in the knockout phase at the stadium, which will be a European venue next season for FC Rubin Kazan's UEFA Champions League campaign.

MSV Arena switch
Six days later at 19.30CET on Friday 22 May the second leg will be at the MSV Arena in Duisburg, the match moved from the weekend to avoid a clash with the last round of the Bundesliga. The match is being played at the city's main 31,500-capacity stadium rather than Duisburg's regular home, following a similar move in Frankfurt for the second leg of last year's final, in which 1. FFC beat Umeå 3-2 in front of a competition record 27,640 crowd. Both matches will be shown live on Eurosport international, and will be the last UEFA Women's Cup games before the launch in 2009/10 of the new UEFA Women's Champions League, which will culminate in a one-off final played in principle two days before the UEFA Champions League final in the same city – Madrid in 2010, London in 2011 and Munich in 2012.
