Having wrapped up the Frauen Bundesaliga title least week, 1. FFC Frankfurt ensured they finished the league season unbeaten for the first time since 2001/02 with a 7-0 defeat of FFC Brauweiler Pulheim.

Prinz honours
Frankfurt, who lost their grip on the UEFA Women's Cup at the quarter-final stage but completed the German double, were on supreme form as Birgit Prinz struck four goals to ensure she finished the season as top scorer with 28, the only occasion she has been 'Torschützenköniginnen' since 2001. Kerstin Garefrekes claimed two goals and Renate Lingor the other to end a season in which Frankfurt won 19 games and were held just three times in 22 fixtures. It is Frankfurt's sixth league title in nine seasons, moving them level with TSV Siegen on the all-time table but still behind nine-time champions SSG 09 Bergisch Gladbach. Next season Frankfurt will enter the UEFA Women's Cup for the sixth time in seven editions hoping for a record third win.

Challengers adrift
FCR 2001 Duisburg, who pushed Frankfurt all the way to the penultimate round, ended nine points behind as they finished with a 2-2 draw at home to Hamburger SV. Deposed champions 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam, who will sit out the UEFA Women's Cup for the first time since 2003/04 next season having also exited in the quarter-finals this time around, recovered from a poor start to the Bundesliga to end in third place. On Sunday they won 4-2 at SC Freiburg to ensure they went through the 12 post-Christmas fixtures unbeaten, some consolation as they finished 16 points behind Frankfurt.
