Umeå brush Kolbotn aside

Kolbotn IL 1-5 Umeå IK Marta and Hanna Ljungberg each scored twice as visitors Umeå took a huge step towards a place in the final.

Marta and Hanna Ljungberg each scored twice as Umeå IK took a huge step towards claiming a place in the UEFA Women's Cup final with a 5-1 win against Kolbotn IL in Oslo on Saturday.

Perfect start
The Swedish side got off to a perfect start when Ljungberg tucked in a rebound in the first minute after Lise Klaveness's chipped shot had bounced back off the crossbar. Umeå had chances to extend their lead but against the run of play Kolbotn forced their way back into the match on 35 minutes when Trine Rønning was first to the ball to score after Solveig Gulbrandsen's shot had been saved.

Swedish show
The second-half was all Umeå as the Swedish side put on a show. Norwegian midfielder Klaveness restored the visitors' advantage nine minutes into the second half, then Marta got her first of the afternoon on 68 minutes, using her terrific pace to latch on to a long through ball then steering it into the corner.

Bye beaten
Marta turned provider ten minutes later when she put Ljungberg through on goal and the striker rounded Kolbotn goalkeeper Lise Beate Bye to make it 4-1. Bye's misery was completed in the final minute when she slipped while trying to dribble past Marta outside the area. The Brazilian showed no mercy, robbing Bye of the ball then sliding it into the unguarded net to make the second leg in Umeå on 12 November little more than a formality.
