UEFA Women's Cup finalists 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam claimed their second Bundesliga title after a 3-1 win against Hamburger SV on Wednesday.
Decisive victory
Petra Wimbersky put Potsdam ahead after six minutes and they were two to the good by the interval as Conny Pohlers scored her 35th goal of the campaign. Jenny Zietz made it 3-0 just before the hour, while Silva Lone Saländer pulled back a consolation goal for Hamburg.
Two-legged final
The result gave Potsdam an unassailable seven-point lead over FCR 2001 Duisburg and 1. FFC Frankfurt with two league games remaining. However, Frankfurt will have the chance to rain on the champions' parade as they meet Potsdam in the two-legged UEFA Women's Cup final over the next two Saturdays.
