Swedish side earn Potsdam rematch

Djurgården/Älvsjö 0-0 AC Sparta Praha (agg: 2-0) Djurgården/Älvsjö set up a rematch of last year's final against holders 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam.

A goalless draw away at AC Sparta Praha was enough to see Djurgården/Älvsjö progress to the semi-finals of the UEFA Womens Cup to set up a repeat of last year's final against 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam.

Svensson decisive
Swedish international Victoria Svensson two goals in the first leg last Tuesday ultimately settled the tie. The No16 was deployed in midfield for a third consecutive match, as she put in another impressive performance. "It's not like I'm used to it, but I'm more of a creator now," she said.

Turbine danger
The win allows the Swedish outfit the opportunity to exact revenge on holders Potsdam, who defeated them 5-1 on aggregate in last year's decider and have progressed to next month's two-legged semi-finals after a resounding 19-2 aggregate win against Valur Reykjavik.

No repeat performance
"That's a very tough task," Svensson acknowledged. "We weren't even close last year. We could have scored at home but they hammered us away, so we have to raise our level in order to play at our best."

Svensson optimism
Djurgården/Älsvjö finished their Allsvenskan season in a disappointing third place, but Svensson remains upbeat. "We may not have won the Allsvenskan but since the merger between Djurgården and Älvsjö three years ago we have finished first, first and third, which isn't too bad."
