Arsenal LFC produced one of the performances of the day, defeating Djurgården/Alvsjö 1-0 in Stockholm to win Group B2. Hayley Kemp's long-range effort in the eighth minute sealed three points for the English side against the ten-player Swedish champions, one of four teams who had already progressed along with compatriots Umeå IK, 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam of Germany and Italy's Torres Terra Sarda.

Imperious Umeå
The holders Umeå are Europe's most successful club, having lifted the Women's Cup twice and reached the final in the competition's inaugural year. The northern Swedish side look as imperious as ever this term, making it three wins from three in Group B1 with an 8-0 defeat of ZFK Mašinac-Classic Niš, the Serbo-Montenegrin mini-tournament hosts. Umeå advance with a goal difference of plus 20 to the knockout stages, where they are joined by FC Bobruichanka. The Belarussians beat ŽNK KRKA Novo Mesto to pip Niš to second place.

Poles in third
The final placings in Group B3 were all that was left to be decided after Potsdam and Torres both won their opening two matches to seal the top two places. The German champions won their thrilling showdown 7-5 on Saturday to advance as section winners. Poland's KS AZS Wroclaw finished in third spot courtesy of a 2-0 victory against Montpellier HSC.

Brøndby eliminated
Last season's semi-finalists Brøndby IF were eliminated from the competition as they fell 2-0 at home to SK Trondheims-Ørn, the Norwegian side who would finish atop Group B4. FC Energy Voronezh finished runners-up as the Russians maintained their unbeaten record with a 4-1 success against Alma KTZH. The two-legged quarter-finals are scheduled to begin in late October.
