Austria underlined their position as runners-up in Group 4 as they overcame Bosnia and Herzegovina in St Polten.
Werner Gregoritsch's outfit were on their game from the off with Robert Žulj spurning a fine chance in the opening seconds, and they took the lead after 11 minutes when Kevin Stöger curled a sublime free-kick over the wall and into the corner of the net.
Number two arrived on 33 minutes when Marco Djuricin received the ball from Stöger in the Bosnian penalty area, turned nimbly and fired past Nikola Vasilj. The SK Sturm Graz striker nearly claimed a second goal after the break only to be denied by the upright while the visitors came close to pulling one back when Andrej Modić's free-kick was expertly saved by Cican Stankovic.
Austria head to Spain for their final match in the section with the result possibly pivotal to them earning one of the best runners-up places available in the play-offs.
