Croatia made it three wins from three in Group 5 as a pair of strikes from Mario Šitum teed up a comfortable win against Liechtenstein in Zagreb.
The No7 struck twice inside the opening 22 minutes, before captain Marcelo Brozović added a third on the stroke of half-time. Mislav Oršić rounded off the scoring after the break, meaning Niko Kovač's team go into Monday's encounter with Switzerland having yet to concede.
A Brozović double in the sides' initial meeting in August shaped a 5-0 win, and he was swiftly into the action again, setting up Šitum for the opener on 14 minutes. An error by visiting goalkeeper Lorenzo Lo Russo eight minutes later presented the forward with the simplest of finishes, before Brozović curled in a free-kick with pinpoint accuracy.
Oršić could not miss after being set up by substitute Marko Pajač shortly after the hour, leaving coach Kovač satisfied at the final whistle. "I wanted my team to solve everything by half-time, which they did," he said. "I am expecting a totally different match in Switzerland – tougher, more aggressive. I still think Switzerland and Ukraine are favorites in this group."
