Portugal posted a commanding 3-0 victory against Israel and strode to the top of UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 8.
Comprehensive winners last time out against Norway, Rui Jorge's team were en route to another three-point haul when William Carvalho broke through a quarter of an hour in. Galatasaray AŞ winger Bruma doubled the hosts' advantage on the cusp of half-time, before a late Taleb Twatha own goal put the result beyond doubt.
A flurry of early corners augured well for the home side, with Carvalho finally capitalising from Sérgio Oliveira's delivery. Oliveira was again the architect for Portugal's second, firing across goal for Bruma to head in after Ivan Cavaleiro had failed to connect.
Bruma threatened to put the game beyond Israel's reach at the start of the second half, cutting in from the left before driving narrowly wide. Moments later, Tozé's free-kick into a crowded penalty area eluded everyone apart from Twatha, who headed into his own net.
