Liechtenstein buried by second-half avalanche

Switzerland struck six second-half goals in Vaduz to make it two away wins on the trot in UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 5.

Starting to feel the nerves after being kept at bay for over an hour, Pajtim Kasami's 63rd-minute goal opened the floodgates. Mergim Brahimi, Max Veloso, Darko Jevtic, Haris Tabakovic and Nassim Ben Khalifa all found the target before full time.

The goals may not have been forthcoming before the break but it was non-stop Swiss pressure in the first half. Ben Khalifa was denied by Lorenzo Lo Russo in the home goal and hit the woodwork late on in the period's two most glaring openings.

The hosts, who conceded nine goals in their first two outings, continued to hold out after the break, but the pressure was ramped up and Kasami eventually opened the scoring as he headed in Silvan Widmer's cross. It took Brahimi just six minutes to double the lead.

The scorer of the second set up Veloso to slide in, and within a minute it was four courtesy of Jevtic's first-touch finish. Tabakovic and Ben Khalifa wrapped things up meaning the Swiss stand in good stead ahead of their first home match of the 2015 qualifying campaign when Croatia visit on 14 October.
