Slovakia remain alongside the Netherlands at the top of UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 3 after maintaining their winning start at home to Georgia.
Buoyant after an opening 7-1 success in Luxembourg, the hosts made it six points from two games as Adam Zreľák's early goal was enough to seal victory in Senec. The visitors were unable to respond and face a tricky test to get back to winning ways with the Netherlands their next opponents.
Ivan Schranz was the first to go close for the hosts, driving over from the edge of the area before Zreľák thumped them ahead, thundering in Milan Lalkovič's corner with his head on 18 minutes. Georgia responded as Valeri Kazaishvili powered a shot just wide before Patrik Le Giang's fingertips turned the Georgia No7's next effort over.
Slovakia's keeper needed to be on top form after the break to keep his side ahead, blocking excellently after Giorgi Chanturia had been sent free by Davit Skhirtladze. A final double save from the MŠK Žilina man ensured his side took the points, rushing out to block at the feet of Kazaishvili before sprinting back between the posts to tip over Nika Kvekveskiri's goalbound effort from the follow up.
