Croatia strode to the top of UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 5 by sending five unanswered goals past Liechtenstein in Vaduz.
The result was never in doubt from the moment Marcelo Brozović broke the deadlock after 23 minutes. The GNK Dinamo Zagreb schemer doubled the visitors' lead 11 minutes after the break, before strikes from Petar Mišić and Bruno Petković, plus a Samuel Zimmermann own goal, completed a resounding win.
Liechtenstein defended doggedly after succumbing to Brozović's deflected effort in the first half, yet could do nothing to prevent the same player scoring again with an outstanding individual effort. Petković made it three shortly after the hour, taking receipt of Mislav Oršić's pass and finishing unerringly beyond home keeper Lorenzo Lo Russo.
A fourth goal arrived five minutes later courtesy of Mišić, then Liechtensteiner misery was compounded when Zimmermann put through his own net following a goalmouth scramble.
