Stefan Mugoša struck twice as Montenegro eased to a 3-0 victory over the Faroe Islands in their opening game of 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying.
The FK Budućnost Podgorica forward gave the home side a perfect start on his home ground, breaking the deadlock with a terrific header inside four minutes. It kick-started a commanding performance, Aleksandar Boljević doubling the lead at the start of the second half. When the Faroes missed a penalty just after the hour, Mugoša promptly wrapped up the points.
Marko Vukčević on the right wing provided both of Mugoša's goals: the first a precise cross emphatically met and finished; the second, on 66 minutes, a low centre guided in. The Faroes, who opened their Group 6 campaign with a 2-2 draw against Romania, were left to rue Bogi Petersen's failure to convert a spot kick four minutes earlier, Danijel Petković saving after Miloš Bakrač was penalised for handball.
The Faroes are in action again on 14 August when they host the Republic of Ireland; Montenegro play Romania at home on 10 September.
