Poul Ingason came off the bench to score in added time as the Faroe Islands salvaged a draw against Romania in their opening game of 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying.
In a tightly-contested first half it was Faroe Islands striker Gunnar Zachariasen who made the difference, collecting Gilli Sørensen's pass and finishing unerringly after 29 minutes. Emil Săndoi's charges wrestled back the initiative shortly after the restart and restored parity courtesy of Gabriel Iancu.
Better was to come for Romania, though, as Sergiu Buş made it two after neat work from Tiberiu Serediuc. Not to be denied a share of the spoils, Faroese substitute Ingason made an immediate impact, steering in with his first touch on the stroke of full time.
