Hungary came from behind to begin 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying on a victorious note in Albania, József Windecker getting the winner 21 minutes from time.
In the first game in Group 4 it appeared the hosts were well placed after going ahead from the spot 28 minutes in, courtesy of Gjelbrim Taipi. The lead lasted just two minutes, however, as Krisztián Adorján restored parity, before Windecker secured three points for Hungary in the 69th minute.
In an even opening Taipi and Roland Ugrai exchanged efforts, though neither goalkeeper was troubled until Márk Jagodics fouled Fabio Hoxha in the Hungarian box, allowing Taipi to dispatch his penalty beyond Levente Jova.
Albania coach Skënder Gega was no doubt hoping his side could consolidate their advantage, but almost immediately Liverpool FC midfielder Adorján made it all-square. Home custodian Orestis Menka saved from Ugrai after the break, yet could not prevent Windecker deciding matters to give Antal Róth's team a winning start.
