Raphael Holzhauser's goal in added time earned Austria a 3-2 victory against Scotland in the final UEFA European Under-21 Championship Group 10 qualifier.
Austria took an early lead – just eight minutes in – through Michael Gregoritsch, who met Marco Meilinger's cross with an emphatic header. The hosts protected that advantage until nine minutes into the second half, when Anthony Watt latched on to a long ball and headed over Austria goalkeeper Jörg Siebenhandl.
Scotland went in front with 15 minutes left thanks to Johnny Russell's effort, but they had less than 60 seconds to enjoy that feeling, as Andreas Weimann benefitted from Michael Sollbauer's cross as he beat Jordan Archer with a cute finish to draw Austria level. Weimann then turned provider in the first minute of added time, laying on Holzhauser to strike the winner with a precise shot.
