Armenia and Montenegro concluded their UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying campaign with a scoreless draw in Podgorica.
Armenia, who were guaranteed second spot in Group 3 at the start of the day, were on the front foot from the off and could have gone in front after two minutes. Gagik Poghosyan found himself free in the area but Danijel Petković showed good reflexes to save.
Though the visitors continued to enjoy dominance of possession, Montenegro's commanding central defensive duo of Ermin Alić and Miloš Bakrač neutralised any threat that came their way.
The hosts tried to catch Armenia on the counterattack but could muster only long-range efforts from Marko Bakić and Jovan Vučinić which were comfortably kept out by Gor Elyazyan. Substitute Gevorg Karapetyan nearly struck a late winner but Petković stood firm.
