Captain Nemanja Bilbija scored twice against Greece as Bosnia and Herzegovina wrapped up second place in UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 1, keeping alive their hopes of securing a play-off place.
All four goals at the Asim Ferhatović Hase Stadion arrived in the first 16 minutes as the visitors had no answer to the hosts' attacking threat. The opener came in the eighth minute, but Vlado Jagodić's team would have been two clear by that stage had Milan Djurić and Muhamed Bešić not squandered openings.
Jagodić’s men did not have to wait long, however, as Bilbija headed in Josip Kvesić's left-wing cross. Bibija swiftly repeated the trick, turning in Miroslav Stevanović's delivery from the opposite flank, before Bešić drilled in the third from 20 metres. Bosnian and Herzegovina refused to ease up and a minute later Benjamin Čolić broke down the left and played a perfect centre for Djurić to head in the fourth.
Bosnia and Herzegovina conclude their group campaign on Monday against Germany, who have won all eight of their matches.
