Cavid Imamverdiyev struck a 91st-minute winner as Azerbaijan came from behind to seal a victory that moves them clear of bottom placed Iceland in Group 8.
Imamverdiyev capitalised on a moment of hesitancy by Hordur Björgvin Magnússon, dispossessing the centre-back and firing in. It completed a stirring comeback by the visitors in Reykjavik, who fell behind midway through the first half when the lively Björn Sigurdarsson headed in. Mirhüseyin Seyidov had a penalty saved by Árni Ólafsson soon after, but Azerbaijan restored parity 13 minutes from time through Araz Abdullayev's long-range effort. The stage was set for Imamverdiyev.
