Scotland's Jordan Rhodes and Jonathan Russell had good chances blocked and Nacer Barazite was denied at the other end as a draw kept the Netherlands top of UEFA European Under-21 Championship Group 10.
Lerin Duarte blazed the first notable chance of the game over Mark Ridgers' net, and the Jong Oranje were almost made to pay when Rhodes, currently averaging more than a goal a game with his club, Huddersfield Town AFC, got a sight of the target, but defender Jeffrey Gouweleeuw fended away his goalbound effort. Barazite also scented an opener on the stroke of half-time, but his shot cannoned away off a team-mate, and he saw another decent strike saved by Ridgers after the break. Russell might have won it with 14 minutes to go, but goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet was equal to the task.
