Montenegro enhanced their chances of progressing from UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 3 with a 4-0 triumph over ten-man Andorra.
Defeated 1-0 by Wales last time out, Montenegro are now back in contention thanks to goals from Ermin Alić, Stefan Mugoša, captain Stefan Nikolić and substitute Marko Vukčević. Dušan Vlaisavljević's team move to second in the section with nine points, one behind the Czech Republic who won 2-0 in Armenia. Both those sides have played a game less than Montenegro.
Alić gave the hosts a seven-minute lead in Niksic when he headed in Asmir Kajević’s corner, and Mugoša swiftly added a second after Andrija Kaludjerović's neat pass. Already an uphill struggle, Andorra's task became all the harder when Joseph Vali was dismissed midway through the opening period.
Not until six minutes into the second half, though, did the Montenegrins get a third, Nikolić registering with a simple lob following a neat interchange between Luka Djordjević and Dino Rebronja. Vukčević completed the scoring with a calm finish before Djordjević struck a post late on. Montenegro's next outing is on 1 June next year, against the Czechs.
