The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia put an end to Serbia's perfect start in UEFA European Under-21 qualifying Group 4 thanks to Feran Hasani's 89th-minute penalty.
The visitors created most of the goalscoring opportunities in the first half but it took until 17 minutes from time for Saša Marković to break the deadlock. Serbia were seemingly destined for their third win on the trot but Hasani held his nerve from the penalty spot with a minute remaining to earn the hosts a share of the spoils.
Serbia made an impressive start to the match but were limited to long-range efforts until the 21st-minute when Filip Djuričić's strike from inside the penalty area was cleared off the line by Stefan Ristovski. Moments later, Luka Milunović brought the best out of Filip Gacevski but the score remained goalless at the break.
Aleksandar Janković's side continued to push forward in the second half and took the lead on 73 minutes when Filip Mladenović found substitute Marković whose neat finish went in off a post. Marković almost doubled the lead seven minutes later but Gacevski was on hand to keep his side in the match.
It proved to be a crucial save when, with a minute remaining, Hasani was brought down inside the box by substitute Vujadin Savić and the FK Shkëndija 79 forward stepped up to earn his side a draw from the penalty spot.
