Germany maintained their 100% record in UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying Group 1 with a 3-0 victory against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The hosts, for whom this was a fourth consecutive win, took a little time to hit their stride, but once Peniel Mlapa opened the scoring after 20 minutes there was no looking back. The TSG 1899 Hoffenheim player received a pass from captain Lewis Holtby on the right-hand side of the penalty area, flicked the ball over two defenders and fired past Tino Divković from close range.
Buoyed by their lead, Germany gave the 4,192 fans in Ingolstadt a second goal to cheer five minutes before half-time, defender Sebastian Neumann heading in a corner from Sebastian Rudy.
Bosnia and Herzegovina enjoyed more possession after the break but after Nemanja Bilbija failed to punish a mistake by goalkeeper Kevin Trapp − Neumann cleared the ball off the goal line − Holtby scored his fourth of the campaign two minutes from time following a pass from Maximilian Beister.
