Markus Henriksen and Torgeir Borven struck to give Norway a 2-0 win in Baku and leave Azerbaijan without a point after three UEFA European Under-21 Championship Group 8 games.
Azerbaijan looked to be the more comfortable side on the ball but Per Joar Hansen's side proved to be deadly on the counterattack. After 21 minutes, Henriksen beat Salahat Aghayev in the Azeri goal after cutting in from the left wing, with Tural Isgandarov drawing a decent save from Eirik Holmen Johansen in response.
While Azerbaijan kept the pressure up after the interval, they created few clear-cut chances and were finally undone two minutes into added time, when substitute Borven latched on to a ball from the right to make it 2-0.
Norway meet England in their next game in Drammen on 10 October, with Belgium visiting Baku on the same day.
