Albania are off the mark in Group 6 of UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying following a 4-3 victory against Moldova.
Both teams had lost their opening fixtures of the campaign but it was not until the second half that either side seized the initiative in Korca. The visitors went ahead through captain Artur Ioniţă, who then put Moldova back in front two minutes after substitute Armando Sadiku's 59th-minute strike had drawn the hosts level.
Mergim Brahimi against restored parity with 15 minutes remaining before two goals in as many minutes from Bruno Telushi and his fellow replacement, Sadiku, gave Artan Bushati's side a two-goal cushion. Radu Ginsari struck with a minute left as Moldova briefly threatened once more, but any hope of a dramatic comeback was extinguished by Mihail Plătică's dismissal in added time.
